The story
Inner light. Fragility.
Sun and earth, bound together in wine.
Porcelina is a Chardonnay-only œuvre de cœur devoted to some of Oregon's finest Chardonnay vineyards. It is the passion project of Patrice and Samantha Breton, guided by winemaker Seth Morgen Long.
Patrice and Samantha Breton are amateurs of White Burgundy. To please themselves first, they have chosen Oregon as the setting for this work of the heart. This is the place to plumb the depths of Chardonnay, and to craft feminine, graceful, precise wines.
All vineyards are farmed with intention and sustainability, and allowed to speak with clarity. Our role is to preserve their voices — keeping a filigreed texture, vibrant acidity, and an unforced sense of terroir that radiates Oregon sunlight back out from the glass.
The majesty of the Earth, and the unknowable architecture underlying it, is everything to us. How the elements align to greet our senses as pleasure is a fascinating, perpetual mystery. The eye motif in our artwork is a reminder that we are beholders of Beauty — parties to this veiled interplay.
The blue and white of porcelain. White caps of the Pacific, echoed in the press pan. The pull of the moon. The mystique of the Feminine. The whipcrack of a flint strike. The wheat-field, faded-red-barn, fir-green geometry of Oregon summer. We want each glass to evoke multitudes and stir emotion in the beholder.

Lovers of art, music and wine, manifesting a dream
Founder
Patrice Breton
An Ottawa native, immersed in great art and music from a young age, and a passionate wine lover for decades, Patrice founded Vice Versa Wines in 2003. While acclaimed for Cabernet Sauvignon, “Chardonnay has always been my North Star,” he says, and Porcelina represents his desire to make the kinds of wines that he and Samantha love to drink.
Founder & Muse
Samantha Breton
Originally a Doctor of Pharmacy from the south shore of Montreal, Samantha's passion for wine sprang to life in 2011, over a shared bottle of 1982 Château Lafleur with Patrice. By 2019, she had become so integral to their shared passion and business that she ended her pharmacy practice to focus full-time on Vice Versa.
Winemaker
Seth Morgen Long
A former sommelier turned Oregon Chardonnay devotee, Seth honed his craft across continents — from Domaine de Montille in Meursault to New Zealand — before becoming the Willamette Valley's first winemaker singularly focused on the varietal, with a 100-point score to show for it. With a meticulous, site-driven vision, he crafts balanced wines of remarkable clarity.
